The Luctonians RFC 26th Annual Anglo Welsh Mini Festival in 2019 involved:
15 clubs, 112 teams and over 1100 players aged 6 – 12 years

All you need to know about the Festival and how to enter your club teams
Luctonians will be applying to the RFU for the Cross Union Festival approval for this event to go ahead with the format for U7s – U12s, they will be pitch based pools with all teams playing each other in the pool and with all players winning a medal in these age groups. The U12s will be slightly different, in they will have a waterfall tournament; as above they will play every team in their pool, and then will play their counterpart from the other, (ie; 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, and so on) Please ensure you have read the English RFU rules for U7s to U12s.
The Registration fees are, per club:
Under 7 £63 (Max 3 squads per invited club)
Under 8’s £63 (Max 2 squads per invited club)
Under 9 & 10’s £42 (Max 1 squad per invited club)
Under 11 £49 (Max 1 squad per invited club)
Under 12 £63 per team (Max 1 squad per invited club)
Clubs entering at every age group can pay a discounted overall Club entry fee of £300, providing the entry fee is received before 1st December 2019.
Please ensure you only book the right number of teams in U7 and U8s that your club has, as last year we were let down by teams in U7 and U8s only arriving on the day with one team. This causes pool groups on the day to be affected and children then have fewer games to play.
Following the success of previous year’s and for the event to run smoothly we have to limit the number of entries, so priority will be given to those who confirm attendance by paying their entry fees at the time of booking. Please do not delay, to confirm your entry, please complete the club entry form below and send it to address shown below, with full payment, cheques should be made payable to ‘Luctonians Youth Sport’.
The maximum number of players allowed per squad for the Festival is as follows:
Under 7 = 6 max (3 squads allowed per invited club)
Under 8 = 9 max, (2 Squads allowed per invited club)
Under 9 = 12 max (1 squad allowed per invited club)
Under 10 = 12 max, (1 squad allowed per invited club)
Under 11 = 14 max, (1 squad allowed per invited club)
Under 12 = 18 max. (1 squad allowed per invited club)
The policy of Luctonians Rugby club is for all players from U9s to wear a gum shield, a player will not be able to play if they do not wear a gum shield. There will be opportunity to purchase gum shields onsite if required.
The under 7 & 8 teams will be refereed by their coaches. The Under 9s, 10s, 11s and 12s teams will be refereed by refs provided by the participating clubs – please note for every team entered in these age groups you are required to provide one competent referee. Please note that WRU Referees are covered by RFU whilst refereeing at the festival.
What! You’ve got more teams?
Please let us know if you would like to enter more teams than permitted at any group and we will accommodate you if possible.
Should you need to change the number of teams you are entering in U7s and U8s and if you are unable to bring a team please inform us immediately by email or by phone call. Teams that enter but do not take part not only create havoc for the organisers, but they also deny other teams the opportunity to take part.
Spectators and Rules of the Park
An important part of the day is the involvement of the families and spectators, all of whom are invited. Entrance to the event will be free to all spectators under 16, but all others will be charged £5.00 per person. We will once again be ensuring that besides the Rugby there will be plenty to eat, drink and enjoy during the course of the day.
For obvious health and safety reasons dogs are not allowed anywhere in the grounds and no barbeques or camping stoves are permitted.
These rules will be strictly enforced, so please ensure that all spectators are aware of this.
