LUCTONIANS PITCHES AND CLUBHOUSE CLOSED DURING LOCKDOWN

On 4th November, the RFU reported that, following talks with the Government, there will be no rugby activity until at least Wednesday 2nd December. As such, the club will be closed for the duration in terms of access for members both on the pitches and in the clubhouse. We are in total shutdown until then but, so long as society complies with the regulations, things look more promising for December and we are therefore planning for our scheduled events to go ahead then.

Subject to any further directions from the RFU & UKGov, the two Youth Rugby Sections returned to regular Sunday Training on 6th September

Times

Minis (U7s-U12s) training slot from 10:00am-11:30am

Juniors (U13s-U16s) training slot from 12noon – 1:30pm
Juniors are asked not to arrive more than 10 minutes before the start of their training

BUT WE MUST ENSURE THAT IT STAYS THAT WAY
SO PLEASE FOLLOW THE RULES

The following guidance has been put in place to keep you and your children safe when you visit Mortimer Park for Sunday training – please read in advance

We look forward to welcoming you back, however

Neither you nor your child should come to Mortimer Park
if any member of your household is displaying any of the COVID-19 symptoms, ie:

• A high temperature
• A new, continuous cough
• A loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste

Your household should self-isolate in accordance with Government/NHS instructions

 

Things your child needs to bring to each session

• Hand Sanitizer, Towel and Pre-filled Water Bottle (normal filling areas are not available)

*Please DO NOT bring mouthguards to training at this stage*

Something YOU may need to bring to each session

• If you intend to avail yourself of the Clubhouse facilities, then you MUST wear a face-covering BEFORE entering the building
This is now a matter of LAW, so please click HERE for details as it will be strictly enforced
See below for circumstances when you may do so

When you get to the club

• Park in designated agegroup parking areas (displayed on plans below)
Also see below if you have children in more than one agegroup

• Go straight to your age group managers (next to designated training area – see plans below) and register before each session, for Track and Trace purposes

• Remain at the club (where possible – see below) for the duration of the training session

What has changed from pre-COVID days?

• Your must be in a group consisting of no more than 6 people and none of that group may mingle with members of another group (The Rule of 6)
This is now a matter of LAW and applies whether you are in the clubhouse, on the terrace or in the grounds
The exception to this is PLAYERS, whilst ON THE PITCH and engaged in their sport.
Off the pitch, they must comply with the Rule of 6. This also applies to Children

• Some areas will be closed or out of bounds until further notice including: The Play Area, Changing Rooms, Changing Room Corridor, Grandstand (except toilets) and Gym

• Access to the clubhouse and terrace is restricted to visits to the kitchen hatch, or other circumstances as described below

• Parents will be asked to remain next to their child’s designated training area whilst they are at the club, unless they wish to use toilets, purchase refreshments or visit their other child’s training area. This is for two reasons:

Firstly, should training finish early for whatever reason, despite Luctonians being an extremely safe environment, it is still a Safeguarding risk to have a child left at the club unattended

Secondly, with the current risks around COVID-19, we are asking parents to be the first people to respond to minor first aid incidents involving their children, so not to have to risk interaction with volunteer first aiders other than in more serious cases where specific first aid treatment is required.

Please remember that Social Distancing must be maintained, even when out on the touchline

• Mini (U7-U12) parents and players are asked to leave the club following the end of their training, unless they have booked a table in the clubhouse, to make room for Juniors (U13-U16) arriving. Juniors are asked not to arrive more than 10 minutes before the start of their training

Food and drink options available

• From 9.30am we will be serving tea, coffee, soft drinks and breakfast baps from the kitchen hatch located on the terrace. Sausage & Chips will be available from this same point, from 11am

Please queue away from the main terrace area, maintaining Social Distancing at all times

Food and drink purchased from the hatch MUST be taken away to your training area, please do not remain in the vicinity of the clubhouse terrace

Should you wish to to remain on the terrace to eat, for Track & Trace purposes you must first register with a member of staff at the welcome point at the doors from the terrace into the clubhouse, before taking a seat. This is a requirement even though you have already registered with your agegroup manager. Please remember that the Rule of 6 applies

You MUST wear a face-covering BEFORE entering the building. This is now enshrined in LAW, so please click HERE for details as it will be strictly enforced

• The clubhouse bar will be open from 11.30am. Those wishing to enjoy a drink, for Track & Trace purposes, must first register with a member of staff at the welcome point at the doors from the terrace into the clubhouse, before entering. This is a requirement even though you have already registered with your agegroup manager. Please remember that the Rule of 6 applies

• Sunday Lunch is served in the clubhouse or outside on the patio area but only if you have pre-booked

Toilets – Please use designated toilet blocks in the vicinity of your training area
(You may only use the clubhouse facilities if you have registered as above, are wearing a face-covering and are seated on the terrace or in the clubhouse)

Parents and Players from U7s, U8s, U9s & U13s please use the Grandstand toilets

Parents and Players from U10s, U11s, U12s, U14s, U15s & U16s please use Cricket Changing Block toilets

Training Times

Mini Age Groups: 10am – 11.30am

Junior Age Groups: 12 noon – 1.30pm

Arrival and Training Areas

Please see separate pitch plans for Minis and Juniors. One half of a full-sized pitch is required for maximum 20 players. It also shows you your designated car parking area

On arrival you should first register with your agegroup manager

In order to minimise movement around club and interaction with other agegroups, please only park in your designated agegroup area. If you have players in different agegroups, then select one of the areas and make your way to each training area to register with the respective agegroup managers. Please ensure that this is done in a socially distanced manner

Following your visit to Mortimer Park

If you suspect that any member of your household may have Covid-19, you should:

• Arrange to be tested. You can do this by clicking HERE

• Following that, you should immediately notify your age group manager or Luctonians. Do not wait for your test before doing so.

• Your household should self-isolate in accordance with Government/NHS instructions

If any member of your household subsequently tests positive for Covid-19, you should

• Immediately notify your age group manager or Luctonians.
